Proof of Delivery

Every SamVertex delivery is closed with a Proof of Delivery (POD) record. That record protects you from chargebacks, settles “I never received it” disputes, and gives you receipt-grade evidence for both buyers and marketplaces.

On a successful delivery, the driver app records:

  • Date and time of the handover, GPS-stamped to the delivery address
  • Photo of the parcel at the doorstep, in the buyer’s hand, or as instructed by the buyer (for example “leave with security”)
  • Signature captured on the driver’s device, where the buyer is present
  • Cash amount collected, if the order is COD
  • POS receipt number, if paid by card-on-delivery
  • Notes (any free-form comment from the driver, useful for awkward addresses)

For “leave at door” or building-security drops, the photo at the drop point serves in place of a signature.

  • In your SamVertex dashboard, on the order detail page
  • In Shopify, attached as a note on the order (if you use the Shopify integration)
  • In the POD email sent automatically to the buyer on delivery
  • In the weekly reconciliation report that accompanies your COD payout

The POD lives with the order for 24 months after delivery.

  • Chargeback defence. When a buyer paid by card and disputes the delivery, the POD photo + signature + GPS stamp is what your acquirer will accept.
  • Marketplace claims. Noon and Amazon both accept SamVertex POD as evidence in seller-fulfilled return windows.
  • High-value orders. For orders over AED 1,500, the POD photo plus a national ID match (where applicable) becomes important.

We also record proof of failed attempts:

  • Photo of the locked door, empty office, or wrong address
  • Driver note (for example “called buyer 3 times, no answer”)
  • Time stamp, GPS, and attempt number (1, 2, or 3)

After three failed attempts, the parcel is returned to the warehouse. See Returns handling for what happens next.

We do not photograph the buyer’s face. The parcel is the subject of the photo, not the person. POD photos are stored in SamVertex’s UAE-region storage and shared only with the seller, the buyer (on request), and law enforcement when required.
